Have been busy with assignments and all...almost stretched to the limit..
Just found out that 1 of my assignments has been postponed for 2 days...don't know if its good or bad...haha...
Had an interesting encounter on Thursday.
Was with a friend of mine when an old uncle came up to me and wanting to borrow 4 bucks from me to take train home. That old guy seems desperate to go back home and I understand how he will feel as I too had an encounter like that last time. I took out my wallet intending to find the 4 bucks..but...only can find 2 bucks, so I only offer him 2 bucks. At first he wanted to ask my friend...but my friend is very suspicious of him, so in the end, he settled for 2 bucks.. and went off to find others to borrow the remaining 2 bucks.
....
...
..
.You all thought that this story is over? NAH!~
That "idiot old man" was found outside McDonald's drink a can of beer 2 hours later!!
That "conman"!
He NEVER intend to go home..
He NEVER intend to use the 4 bucks to take transport home..
Like my friend say, 4 bucks might be just nice to get a can of cold beer...F him!
I have never been so embarassed in my life...I wanted to go over and punch him...but been a civilised person, I didn't do that. Instead I went to sit near him where he can see me and stared at him.. Sensing that its me, he pretend to take out his mobile phone and talk on the phone and walked out of Mac.. I decided not to purse this matter...and went back home instead..
HOWEVER, I have lost faith in this type of people..
NEVER would I help another person and lend him or her money...unless I know this person well enough..
I tried to help and ended up like a fool...
May this be a lesson for all..
Sometimes it doesn't pay to be too kind hearted...

Here's a case study..I edited from a document from a friend.
It's happening in the REAL WORLD..
FateBoy : ME! (WHAHA..can't think of another name...don't want to upset any one)
Mr XXX: BOSS
---------------------------
FateBoy has been working as a Recruitment Consultant for the past two years. He has been covering the duties of both recruitment and business development executive jobs and, his salary has not been revised.
Currently, the job market is favorable due to economic recovery. FateBoy intends to resign from his present job in order to seek one with better pay. So far, he has gone for two interviews with pay packages that promise to be more than what he is getting now. He submitted his resignation letter to the "One-Man Management Team", Mr XXX, for his attention.
Mr XXX: I hope you will share with me what is on your mind? Why are you resigning?
FateBoy: Salary is the issue because I believe I have been doing the jobs of two people since my last promotion and I think now that the company is doing well with the recovering economy, I should get better pay in recognition of my contributions to the company.
Mr XXX: Well ...(thinking real hard and punching a calculator) Hmmm... Let's just say I am fully aware and grateful for your contributions over the past two years and I am now prepared to offer you a pay increment of S$100 on top of your basic salary.
FateBoy: Thanks for the offer. May I know how you arrived only $100?
Mr XXX: Well...it's based on sales figure over the past 2 years.
FateBoy: Just to clarify, what methods did you use to determine this amount? Do you know of any other employee who is willing to cover my duties for my salary?
Mr XXX: Ok! Let's not get into an argument over this. What's the expected salary you have in mind then?
FateBoy: Using the market rate of a Recruitment Consultant as a benchmark, I think I deserve 15% more than what I am currently getting. Besides, I am performing the jobs of two people so I'd like to propose 25% more than what I am getting today.
Mr XXX: 25%! You've got to be joking! This is way beyond what I am prepared to pay for a Recruitment Consultant!
FateBoy: Mr XXX, I am not asking for 10% or 25% but for fair remuneration. Don't you agree that it is only fair that I get paid for my contributions to the company?
Mr XXX: Ok. I'll offer you a basic salary of $2000. That's the highest I can go. Don't ask why but it's my decision as the boss of this company!
FateBoy: But how do you decide on this figure? An S$2000 basic salary may be fair; I don't know. Unless you can state objectively why that amount is fair to me, I think I am likely to get a better offer from other companies.
Mr XXX: Look, the company is not doing as well as you think despite the recovering economy. I have to also cover for those consultants that are not performing! See the bills? (Throws the bills on the table) I still have to cover all these! I also cannot fire them; I have "feelings" for them! I have developed "feelings" for these people over the past 2 years. Look, FateBoy, THE SKIES THE LIMIT! You can earn a lot more and have enough to even get a credit card! (Throw his credit card on the table) OR, you can even own a CAR! (Throw Nissan Sunny Car Keys on the table)SEE! Ok, Take it or leave it! I have another appointment now. Think over it and discuss it with me again on Wednesday.
FateBoy gives a pissed off look and gets out of Mr XXX's office... ...
(*Wednesday arrives .....*)
By now, FateBoy has received two offers from two companies who are willing to hire him and is called into Mr XXX's office.
FateBoy: Good morning Mr XXX. I have just received two job offers from separate companies and they are willing to pay me at least 25% more than my current salary.
Mr XXX: Alright... Let's use 25% as a base for discussion.
FateBoy: Very well then. What does it cost to hire a Business Development Executive/ Manager at the current market rate?
Mr XXX: It costs about $2,500 - $3,000 per month. Why?
FateBoy: Since it's clear to you that I am also doubling up as a Business Development Executive/ Manager, it's only fair that I am paid for my additional contributions. I believe my contributions have brought in about 30% of the company's revenue last year and I think I can do a much better job this year.
Mr XXX: Hmmm ... ok, how about this. I will offer you a 30% increment. However, that means, your sales target figure will have to go up.
FateBoy: (Thinking to himself) should I accept this offer or ask for more?
Mr XXX relates the conversation to you and asks you how he could have been more effective in his negotiation strategy.

Maybe my hatred for him is really too strong. Last night I dreamt about him.
Ever since that stupid "email" was sent... well... to refresh the memories of all who knew...
"Dear all,
Please remember the followings:
-All staff should reach office by 9am.
-Lunch time is 1 hour.
-Do not play games or MSN during office hour.
-Do not play or listen to music during office hour.
Anyone who fail to abide the above will be given 2 warning. After that there will be a penalty of $10."
The nightmare I had...well... it's about him..
(*Screen appears in the office, as always, do my work..*)
Suddenly, an email appears..
"
Dear all,
No coloured hair or dye hair in the office.
Anyone who fail to abide the above will be given 2 warning. After that there will be a penalty of $10.
"
Irritated by what he wrote.. I dashed inside his room and demanded that this stupid requested be abolished. My hair was coloured but I had long cut short and the colour is not really that visible.
Then I saw that evil grin.. he actually demanded the 10 BUCKS! I was so infuriated that I took out a 100 buck note and slapped his face..
"HERE! I can come to work late 100 times!"
and then...
...
....
I woke up..
Damn stun and still sleepish..
Looked at the time... SHIT! 7.20am..have to rush off to work!
Oh well...for those people who don't know how I looked like today or I mean now..
Well...haha...
That how I look now..
HAHA!~

Long time no update blog..
Actually I have a lot of reasons for not updating this blog. BUT! It's all excuses..
I am just plain lazy..haha!
New semester began..have to get back to the study momentum. Assignments will start to pile all. Have to endure those long nights..
Watched 2 movies recently..Pirates and Lake House. Both are nice movies. But I prefer pirates more. Might be because of the humour and action.
Sunday was a long day for me. Lessons start from 9.30am, all the way to 3.30pm. Towards the 2nd lesson, I felt so sleepish.. it's not the lecturer's fault but the lesson is theory so it tends to be boring..
Took the train back to Lakeside MRT and saw my friend. We walked back to our home area together and I suggested to go 7-eleven to eat MR SOFTEE. Our memories traced all the way back to secondary 2. Where the both of us would always go to that 7-eleven to buy MR SOFTEE to eat. During those days, 1 SOFTEE cost around $1.50 but it's a big cup. I always prefer the chendol flavour. I think now this flavour almost extinct. HAiz..
However, now the SOFTEE shrunk to $1 only. Even the cup also shrunk..haizzz...
I see a lot of stuff like cab fare, public transport, even kopi also increase, our salary still the same or even decrease. It's saddening..the cost of living is so high.
I hope that my worries would decrease..haha...ha..ha...sian... :)
